Mai Handwoven Indigo Table Runner with Traditional Diamond Pattern Studio Naenna Weaver SaengThese table runners will be so much more than just a pretty addition to your home.

The table runners offered at Pelagona were made by Saeng and Peerada at Studio Naenna in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Every step of the production process (from planting the indigo for the natural dye to weaving) is done at the studio which employs and works with female weavers in the region who earn an extra income through weaving.

It takes about one month to weave two of our runners. This excludes the time for producing the indigo (which would add another three to four months from planting the seeds to dying the yarn).

The pattern is a traditional diamond pattern. The weavers do not need any drawings or plans for the weaving, they have the pattern in their minds.

The weavers are mainly women. They are more than just weavers – they are mothers, providers for their families and/or local communities, farmers, community leaders and their needs are taken into account when planning the production at Studio Naenna.

Your purchase contributes to a sustainable income for the weavers – they are paid fair prices and promptly.

By shopping at Pelagona you will receive a beautiful addition to your home but you will also make a significant impact.

Your Impact:

  • Empower female artisans
  • Preserve local arts, traditions and culture
  • Support women in becoming independent and providing for their families
  • Ensure fair and prompt payment
  • Create awareness about the supply chain of your products, natural materials and our environment

All items are handmade and unique – therefore, slight variations may occur.
