Made from natural materials by female artisans in Cambodia
Beachhouse, Nordic or natural chic – our Liha Baskets are the perfect match for all of them. These handwoven rattan baskets are a stylish storage solution for your home. Use them in the bathroom for cotton pads, swabs or your beauty products or in any other room to store small trinkets. You can use the lid as a separate tray as well.
The baskets are handmade by Manava, a collective working with female artisans in Cambodia. Their products are made from natural rattan and willow. It takes one artisan about 10 days to finish a set of three baskets (small, medium and large size). The traditional techniques have been handed down from generation to generation.
A large number of Cambodian women living in villages are unemployed. Even if they have a job, their income is less than USD 2.50 per day. As most families have between 3-5 children, it makes it almost impossible for them to survive.
Your purchase provides these talented Cambodian artisans with a sustainable income, empowers their creativity and offers them a safe working environment, where their views and opinions matter.
All items are handmade and unique – therefore, slight variations may occur.
The Liha Baskets come in 3 sizes:
Small: D c. 10.5 cm, H c. 10.5 cm (c. 8 cm without the lid)
Medium: D c. 14 cm, H. c. 15 cm (c. 11 cm without the lid)
Large: D c. 18 cm, H c. 21 cm (c. 16 cm without the lid)
Material: Natural and sustainable rattan
Country of Origin: Cambodia
The colour stays longest if you keep the baskets out of direct sunlight.
